How the age calculator works

The calculator counts completed years from your date of birth to the “as of” date, then completed months, then the remaining days — the same breakdown used on official forms. It also totals the days lived and works out your next birthday.

Worked example: born 1 January 2000, as of 25 October 2026, you are 26 years, 9 months, 24 days old — 26 full years to 1 January 2026, 9 full months to 1 October 2026, and 24 more days.

How is my age calculated?
In completed years, then completed months, then remaining days. Someone born on 1 January 2000 is 26 years, 9 months, 24 days old on 25 October 2026.
What is my age in total days?
The calculator shows it under the headline age — days are counted as whole calendar days elapsed since the date of birth.
Can I work out my age on a past or future date?
Yes — change the “Age as of” date. Set it to a past date for a historical age, or a future date to see how old you will be.
What happens if I was born on 29 February?
Leap-day birthdays fall on 1 March in non-leap years in this calculator, because 29 February does not exist in those years. Your completed age is unaffected.
Why does another calculator give a different age by a day?
Usually timezone handling: a calculator that treats your birth date as midnight in a different timezone can shift the count by a day. This calculator treats both dates as plain calendar dates, so no timezone shift applies.
