7.62 km
10000 steps = 7.62 km (step length 0.762 m)

Formula: 10000 steps × 0.762 m ÷ 1,000 = 7.62 km

How the steps to km conversion works

Distance is steps times stride length: km = steps × step length (m) ÷ 1,000. The only personal part is your stride — the default 0.762 m suits an average adult, but measuring your own takes a minute and makes the answer yours.

Worked example: 10,000 steps × 0.762 m ÷ 1,000 = 7.62 km. At a brisk 1 m stride, the same 10,000 steps is a full 10 km.

Does walking speed change the result?
Only via stride length: faster walking means longer strides, so you cover more distance per step. The converter uses whatever stride length you enter, so it works for walking, jogging and running alike.
