Convert oil grams ⇄ millilitres
Formula: 100 g ÷ 0.92 g/ml = 108.6957 ml
How the oil conversion works
The converter applies ml = grams ÷ density, with cooking oil's density at a typical 0.92 g/ml. Water is 1.0 g/ml, so oil is about 8% lighter per millilitre — 100 g of oil takes up more room than 100 g of water.
Worked example: a recipe calling for 150 g of oil needs 150 ÷ 0.92 ≈ 163.0 ml. A full US cup of oil (236.588 ml) weighs 236.588 × 0.92 ≈ 217.7 g — the figure behind the vegetable-oil preset on our grams-to-cups page.
Treat 0.92 g/ml as typical, not exact: olive, sunflower, rapeseed and vegetable oils differ slightly, and density shifts a little with temperature. For baking and frying, weigh with a scale when it matters.
