Convert yogurt grams ⇄ ml

Grams ≠ ml without density — strained Greek yogurt is slightly denser than plain.
Presets
95.2381 ml
100 g = 95.2381 ml (at density 1.05 g/ml)

Formula: 100 g ÷ 1.05 g/ml = 95.2381 ml

Approximate densities: yogurt densities vary a little with fat content and straining — 1.05 and 1.06 g/ml are typical. For baking, weigh with a scale when it matters.

How the yogurt conversion works

The converter applies ml = grams ÷ density, with plain yogurt at a typical 1.05 g/ml and strained Greek yogurt at about 1.06 g/ml. Both sit close to water's 1.00 g/ml, so grams and millilitres are nearly — but not quite — interchangeable.

Worked example: a recipe calling for 200 g of plain yogurt needs 200 ÷ 1.05 ≈ 190.5 ml. A 500 g tub is 500 ÷ 1.05 ≈ 476.2 ml.

Treat the densities as typical, not exact: fat content and straining shift them a little. For baking, weigh with a scale when it matters — and remember tubs are labelled by weight, not volume.

yogurt questions

How many ml is 100 g of yogurt?
About 95.2 ml of plain yogurt (100 ÷ 1.05), or about 94.3 ml of Greek yogurt (100 ÷ 1.06).
What is the density of yogurt?
About 1.05 g/ml for plain yogurt — just 5% denser than water. Greek yogurt, strained thicker, is about 1.06 g/ml.
How many grams is a 150 g tub of yogurt in ml?
About 142.9 ml plain (150 ÷ 1.05) — tubs are labelled by weight, not volume, so a “150 g” tub is not 150 ml.
Does flavoured yogurt weigh the same?
Near enough for recipes — fruit and flavourings shift density only slightly. Use the plain preset unless the yogurt is heavily strained.
Can I convert ml of yogurt back to grams?
Yes — switch the direction above. Grams = ml × density, so 200 ml of plain yogurt is 200 × 1.05 = 210 g.
